Sad day!

Today has been a sad day :( Over the past few weeks I have been slowing getting rid of a lot of my baby things and today topped the cake. My baby crib that has been sitting in the same room, in the same spot for sever years has finally come down. Much to my sadness we have moved Joey to a toddler bed. Yes, he is almost 3 but I couldn't bear not having the crib in his room. So we moved Andrew's toddler bed down to Joey's room and converted the crib into a full size bed for Andrew. Although we haven't put the bed up in Andrew's room or bought the mattress yet (lack of money for that one) it doesn't matter as he has not slept in his room for over a year. Adriana's room has become his second room. So as soon as we get his room finished I will post about that. Until then, here is Joey in his big boy bed!

Andrew playing soccer!

This year Andrew has started playing soccer on the Borromeo kindergarten team. Since there is no pre k team they allow the preschoolers to play with the kindergarteners. Andrew is so excited and has been doing really well at practice. Considering he is a year younger than most kids he is catching on really quick. Here are a few shots I got of him at practice

Joey was having fun at Andrew's practice running around too!

Let the craziness begin!

So its that time of year again for our CRAZY schedule! Adriana and Andrew both signed up for Borromeo soccer teams. Adriana will be on the 1st grade team and Andrew will be playing for the kindergarten team since there is no pre k team. This will consist of practices on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and at least two games on the weekends. But wait, the craziness doesn't end there! I just signed Andrew up for basketball starting in Sept. and Adriana up for gymnastics. Add in a night of girlscouts and you have what I call......."what the heck was I thinking"!!!!! So this is the beginning of the end for our carefree easy nights! I'm so not looking forward to adding in the third one in a couple of years, I think I will have to hire an assistant to keep everything straight and possibly a driver to help with the driving of the three!

Marley again!

This summer has been so hot that we have not been able to take Marley.......I mean Summy on her long walks. Well with it starting to cool down we decided to get her out on her walks again. I though that maybe now since she is 3 1/2 and had a lazy summer that she would possibly calm down a bit. Yeah right! We went on our first walk Wednesday morning and she about killed me with all her pulling. I was so sore (more sore than I am from running) on Thursday that I had to take a day off. Today I decided we would give it a try again and yes she pulled the heck out of me again. I have to stop and make her sit everytime another dog comes down the trail because she goes so crazy. The one time I stopped and kneeled down in front of her while a dog came by and she still went crazy knocking me down and dragging me until my knee was bleeding from being skinned up so bad. The lady walking the other dog kept appologizing and I'm thinking she probably thinks I have the craziest dog in the world, which isn't far from the truth! So we are starting all over with our crazy dog and hopefully can get her being halfway normal again for these walks. We shall see. Anyone having any good tips on controlling a 100lb crazy lab I would love to hear them!

Playing at the park!

The boys are protesting and saying its not fair that sissy gets to go to school, so to make it fair we have been doing many fun things together. One of which is going to the park. They had so much fun playing and luckily we were the only ones there which made it even better. Here is my boys having the time of their life at the park!

Lake Carlyle!

This past weekend we went with MawMaw, PawPaw, my sister, my niece, and my nephew down to Lake Carlyle to spend some time out on the boat. When we got down there Adriana was so excited to be able to try skiing. So we watched the video on skiing and got her all strapped into the beginners skiis and she was ready to go. Well my dad thought he was supposed to take off slow, but he went a little too slow and she ended up drinking a gallon of water and was pretty scared after that. She said she wanted to try again, but you can see from the look in this picture she was still really scared so I told her we would wait until next year because 6 is still really young to be skiing.

So instead she had a blast playing on the kneeboard and tube.

Joey said he wanted to go out on the tube so I said I would go with him since there was no way I would let him be out there by himself. Well since the other tube broke after Branson, my parents brought out their old one person tube. So me and Joey climbed in and I told my dad to go slow with him. Well apparently he was going too slow and the tube was getting more and more water in it until we were finally almost completely under water. I kept saying to stop but everyone was laughing so hard.....including Joey who thought it was so much fun! Well they eventually stopped for us and I decided we would not do that again!

Here is my niece being a show off while skiing! She is so cute!

This was the first time my 10 year old nephew got up on skiis! He did awesome and got right up! We were so proud of him!

After Adriana kneeboarded in Branson, Andrew decided that he just had to try it. So I went out there with him and got him set up on the kneeboard and held on to the back for awhile to make sure he was alright. Well holding on to the back of a kneeboard while being dragged with most of your body in the water makes for some really tired arms. So I finally had to let go and let him be on his own and much to my surprise he did awesome! It took him awhile to realize I wasn't on the back anymore but he still stayed on and keeps saying he can't wait to go again. He is definitely one brave little 4 year old boy!

We had a great time once again and can't wait to go out one more time before summer ends! Thanks for sharing your boat with us again MawMaw and PawPaw!!!!

Performing at the Cardinal game!

I'm a little behind on this post as I was waiting to get the pictures from my mom's camera. On July 30th the kids were to perform at the Cardinals game preshow with their gymnastics class. I did this mostly for Andrew who was so excited to be able to go down onto the Cardinals field to perform. Unfortunately it ended up being a very rainy day so instead of doing their performance they had the kids do a parade around the field since the field was so wet. Andrew still had a great time walking around the field and was excited to watch the game. Well, because of all the rain the game ended up on a 2 hour rain delay. I know it bummed Andrew out, but we just ended up leaving and going out to eat with MawMaw and PawPaw instead. It was a 7:10 game so after the rain delay it would have been too late for the little ones to be out. I was really hoping they would call the game so we could go to another one, but they didn't. The Cards did end up winning though so that was a good thing!
A few pictures of the kids walking around in their parade.

Hopefully it won't rain at the next Cards game we go to!

Adriana riding her big girl bike!

I keep forgetting to write a post about this. At the beginning of summer Adriana began riding her big girl bike without training wheels! I was finally able to get t picture of her riding around this past weekend. Another big girl accomplishment!

A look at the past!

Here is a look at the years past.......
1st day of 3 year old preschool.......

1st day of 4 year old preschool......

Adriana's 1st day of 1st grade!

Today was Adriana's 1st day of 1st grade. I thought it would be easier after kindergarten, but it was still just as hard to drop her off this year. Maybe a little harder because I'm realizing how grown up she is getting and she is not the baby at the school anymore. I held off my tears until after I dropped her off, and yes I cried a little.........She did awesome and was excited to get back to school to be with all her friends. She was also excited about getting the teacher she wanted but her best friend was in the other class which was her only disappointment. I think its a good thing because they tend to make a little trouble between themselves.
Here are the pictures from her big day!

So here is to another year going by and my babies getting bigger. I can't wait to hear all about all the things she will be learning this year!

Herman's Farm!

I have been wanting to try canning with my mother in law (who is awesome at it) so she told me about a little farm off of north Highway 94 that sells canning tomatoes. She said they also have pick your own peaches, tomatoes, and green beans for the kids to do. Well I thought this sounded like a lot of fun so I called up my friend Debbie to see if she would like to join us. So we picked Debbie and her daughter Reece (Joey's little friend) up and headed out to the farm. When we got out there we were told that the green beans were all picked already but we could pick the peaches and tomatoes.
Here is the kids picking the peaches. They were pretty picked over already but we were still able to pick enough to feed us for the week.

Next was the tomatoes. Unfortunately we picked a very hot day to go so we only picked for a short time before we were all over heated, which is a good thing on my pocketbook!

Here I Joey and his friend Reece taking a break!

Everyone enjoying a nice break on the swing before heading out!

It was a cute little farm that is close to our house which is perfect. Next year we will remember to go earlier in the year when everything is not so picked over. I was able to get my canning tomatoes at an awesome price which was perfect!

Not again!

We will be putting my car back in the shop this weekend. My car is only 4 years old, what is going on?! This time it is saying my 4 wheel drive needs servicing. We just need a break to pull our savings account back together, just a month is that too much to ask! This is so frustrating! Dang American cars!

Big truck day!

This past Sunday we decided to head out to the big truck day at Kemp Auto Museum after Church. I thought this would be perfect for the boys given that they are so crazy about big trucks. Andrew loved it and was in awe with all the big trucks. Joey was a bit scared because all the kids were honking the big horns. But I did get to manage to get a couple of pictures of him there.

It was really neat to see all the trucks up close and best of all it made for a family fun day for free!
