Adriana's school talent show!

To start off school spirit week, the school held a talent show. Adriana was actually able to do two acts. One with the 1st grade girls who sign languaged to the song "I'm not afraid" and the second she did a dance with her best friend Claire to "Car Wash". She did great in both of them and I couldn't have been more proud!
The 1st grade girls went first. Here is all the girls lined up.

A few more pictures of the girls performing.....

Then after a quick clothing change, Adriana and Claire did their dance.....

And a group picture of a few of the girls afterwards.....

The girls all worked very hard and did a great job! I love how all the girls are such good friends right now! It makes me so sad to think that in a few years the clicks will begin starting :( I hope they still can all grow up being good friends no matter what!

Bridging ceremony!

On Tuesday night, Adriana had her bridging ceremony where she went from being a daisy to becoming a brownie! I can't believe how fast my baby girl is growing up :(
Here is a few pictures from the ceremony....
All the girlscouts getting ready!

Adriana walking over the bridge to become a brownie!

All the girls after bridging!

I can't wait for girlscouts next year. I have also excepted an assistant position so we shall see how it goes. We have so many more field trips and activities planned and it should be a great year! We also have a few more girls who joined for next year!

Andrew playing t ball!

Andrew decided to do another season of T ball playing for what he calls the "Cardinals team" :)
He is very excited and listens intently to what the coach tells him.
Here he is waiting for the ball in the outfield....

Patiently waiting....

Running the bases.....

His turn up to bat....

Making a catch in the outfield....

He is so much better this year than last year and it is so much fun watching these little ones play!

Adriana playing softball!

The 1st grade girls from Adriana's school decided to put together a softball team at St. Elizabeth. Although they have not had too many practices because of rain, they did get a few in.
Here is one of Adriana's practices.....
Not quite a long enough reach to catch that one!

Throwing the ball back....

Practicing her batting skills.....

This picture of Adriana and Kennedy cracks me up :)

And the boys spend their time exploring in the woods right next to the ball field while Adriana practices.....

The girls all look pretty good playing and I can't wait to watch their first game.....if it ever stops raining so they can have one :)

Joey's tonsils!

A couple of months ago we did a sleep study on Joey because Dr. Dorfman thought that Joey might have sleep apnea. Well it looks like he does and we were referred to an ENT to have a look at Joey. So we met up with Dr. Clary and after going over Joey's sleep study and talking with him about how Joey naps so much during the day, he thought it would be best if he went ahead and removed Joey's tonsils and adnoids.
So on 4/19/11 we headed down to St. John's hospital to have Joey's surgery. Joey was great about it and would tell anyone who would listen that he was getting his tonsils out. Even when we got to the hospital he was good with everything except for when they told him he would have to remove his monster truck shirt and put on his hospital scrups, that did cause a bit of a fight. But he was quickly better and back to his funny ole self.
Here he is showing me his tonsils one last time....

Then they gave him a "kiddie cocktail" as it is called. It is something that will help calm him down as they take him away. Joey was hilarious and was playing with the bed and kept saying "I don't think this is a good idea".

He was having a great time and was fine even when they came to wheel him away. He did take "bear bear" along with him to have his surgery.

The surgery went great! But soon after the doctor came in to talk to us, a nurse came to get me and bring me back to recovery. Joey was awake and not happy! When I got back to the room a nurse was holding Joey and trying to calm him down. I ran over to him and tried to calm him down too. He was crying and kept yelling that he couldn't see. The nurses said he had double vision that would be better soon. He was like a crazy animal climbing on my head and pulling my hair. The nurses let him drink some apple juice and he quickly threw that up. After about 15 minutes of this, he finally calmed down and was able to fall asleep. After a short nap, we were able to go back to our room. They kept us at the hospital for 6 hours after his surgery then we were finally able to go home. Chris filled Joey's prescription and we attempted to give Joey his pain meds. It didn't go so well as Joey threw it up. He continued doing that everytime we tried to give him medicine so I had to switch to just tylenol the next day. Joey continued to not eat or drink anything and was crying every hour during the night. We weighed him a couple of days later and he had lost 1 1/2 lbs. I called the doctor and they said they would have to see him if he continues to not eat or drink. Thankfully over the weekend he finally began to eat and drink small amounts and was finally only waking up about 4-5 times during the night. He is now almost back to normal thankfully and continues to get better each day. He has gained back a pound he lost and has his appetite back. Now comes the hard part of cutting back his ice cream eating :) Now we will just keep our fingers crossed that his sleep apnea is all better and we won't have to do anything more for it!

Dyeing Easter eggs!

On Good Friday since Adriana was off school we decided to have a fun family day. We went out to the Mills to see the Easter bunny, then ate at Johnny Rockets, and saw the movie Hop at the "real" movie theatre (since we haven't seen a movie that wasn't at the dollar show in probably 4 years!). When we got home we decided to dye the eggs I bought. So the kids all took turns dyeing their 3 dozen eggs.

Easter!

I know I am way behind in blogging so be prepared to be bombarded with posts. We will start with the most recent being Easter! The night before Easter the kids set out some fresh veggies for the Easter bunny. Since we didn't have any carrots in the house we improvised and set out broccoli and cauliflower instead.

Easter morning came! The Easter bunny hid about 50 eggs which were filled with $1 bills and quarters. He also brought the kids all their summer needs......fishing poles, pool toys, sun glasses, bandaids, swimsuit, beach towels, etc. The kids loved all their stuff!
Adriana in the morning!

Andrew......

And Joey....

The three kids together....

After Easter morning at our house we headed over to MawMaw and PawPaw's house. Unfortunately I forgot to take very many pictures there :(
But I did get one of the kids with their cousins Kaitlyn (15) and Jacob (11).

The girls....

The boys.....

I then had to head to work :( So Chris took the kids down to see Great Grandma Weber where he forgot to take any pictures. I'm hoping to grab some pictures from my sister in law who took lots.
After that they headed to MeMaw and PePaw's house. They were able to get in an Easter egg hunt outside.....
Adriana and Cheyenne (neighbor girl) hunting eggs......

Joey.....

Counsin Gabe......

Andrew.....

And cousin Angeline.....

The kids had a wonderful Easter! I love it when they still believe and dread the day when the grow up :( Hope everyone had a great Easter too!

Date night!

Last night Chris and I got to have an amazing date night out. We have not had a night out like this in years! And I can't thank so many of my wonderful friends enough! They supplied us with a gift card for a night at Ameristar Casino Hotel plus a visa gift card for us to use on whatever. So we started our evening out with dropping the kids off at the grandparents house then heading over to the casino. We had dinner at the bar and grill and had enough food to save for later. We then headed into gamble. OK, neither one of us are big gamblers so we were completely lost in there. What happened to cards? What happened to money? Apparently they no longer use cards and you get a piece of paper back instead of money. So we spent the first hour walking around dumbfounded saying, what is going on? Then we spent our big $20 oh in about 10 minutes (thats our limit for gambling which is maybe why we don't go very often.). Then we realized they have soda machines for free.....woohoo....so we grabbed a soda and coffee and spent lots of time people watching and talking about how sad it was watching these people loose so much money! Then we headed up to our room for a relaxing night talking and watching TV, something we rarely get to do chasing three kiddos around! We got up early the next morning and headed into church which was so nice not having to entertain three kiddos during the mass. Lastly we did a little shopping and headed back to pick up the kids. We had an amazing time and unfortunately I didn't take one single picture of us the whole night! But I want to tell all my friends again....thank you so much!!!! Really, I don't know what I would do without all of you!!!! I love you all so much!!!!

Our anniversary!

I sit here in amazement that we are celebrating our 8th anniversary together. It doesn't seem like our wedding day was that long ago! I'm very thankful this year to be celebrating our anniversary after that very difficult two months we just passed. I realize how lucky I am to be celebrating this year and I won't let a second go by that I don't feel grateful for having my wonderful husband by my side.
On our wedding day 8 years ago, it started out warm and sunny. Then a cold front came in causing a storm filled with hail and tornado sirens. After the storm passed we were left with snow flurries as we rode our horse and carriage from the St. Charles Conservatory to the Heart of St. Charles for our reception. I remember telling Chris that day that all this crazy weather just meant that our marriage could survive anything! And I really believe today that it is true after everything we have been through. We have had three beautful, healthy babies (but also suffering through two miscarriages). We had a son diagnosed with ITP when he was 10 months old and it was a very scary time for a couple of months. We had many stressful times over money when the economy went south. And the latest scare of Chris having stage 3 cancer. We have been through so much and it has only made our marriage that much stronger! I know we will have many more hard days in our future but I know we will make it through anything!
I know Chris will be reading this so I want you to know that I really do love you with all my heart and I could never imagine my life without you! You are truly my soul mate! I look forward to the days when we are an old couple sitting on our porch in a swing watching our great grandchildren playing around us! Happy Anniversary to the most wonderful husband I could have ever asked for!!!!

Finally springtime!!!!

If you know anything about me, you know I HATE cold weather. January and February are just depressing months and I go into a hibernation. But spring is finally here and I'm so excited! So Sunday with the weather being so incredibly nice out, we spent the whole day outside. Cleaning up the yard, working on my garden, and my boys favorite.....fishing. We have a pond right behind our house which is so nice. We just walk out the gate to our fence and there we are......a fully stocked pond! This was one of the things I loved most about our house when we bought it.
Adriana fishing....

Joey and daddy fishing.....

And Andrew fishing......

The wind was really blowing which didn't make for the greatest fishing conditions but Adriana did manage to catch the only fish we caught that day. Here she is reeling it in....

And her is her fish!

Although the boys were a little bummed that they didn't get to catch any, I assured them that summer was just starting and we will have plenty more fishing days. Plus the neighborhood fishing contest is right around the corner, always a favorite of the family!
