Outside fun day!

Today was outside fun day at Andrew's school. Its an activity that the school does every spring and its a lot of fun. They have lots of activities set up for the kids outside which include a sand table, water table, bounce house, bubbles, mini golf, painting, and many more fun activities. After playing outside for several hours the kids get to eat a picnic lunch under the pavilion which consisted of hot dogs, chips, drink, cookie, and popsicle. Here are some of the pictures of the boys having a good time!

Neighborhood fishing derby!

Every year our neighborhood holds a fishing derby. Last year Andrew won a trophy for biggest fish so we were excited about what we would win this year. We headed down to the pond about 7:45 to get signed up and the derby started at 8am.
This year it was really cold so we bundled up while we waited for the starting whistle.

Andrew fishing.

Joey fishing.

Even Adriana got in on some of the action.

Andrew actually caught a lot of fish but this was his biggest fish he had caught that morning. It was a 10 1/2" bass.

Joey also caught several fish. Here is just one of the many fish.

Adriana and I were only able to catch one measley fish! I guess girls really aren't very good at this fishing thing!!!!
Once again Andrew won a trophy and fishing pole for catching the biggest fish! Way to go Andrew!

This was the first year that Joey was able to fish since he was too little still last year. Joey was a trophy for the smallest fish which was a 4" blue gill. Way to go Joey!

I think Adriana was a little disappointed again this year for walking away empty handed yet again, but I reminded her that fishing is more of a boy thing anyway and I think she was alright then.
We'll see what next year will bring for us!

Adriana's softball game!

Thursday evening Adriana started playing her softball game. She did great and made so many improvements this year compared to last year. This year the coach pitches the ball to the players so its a little harder than just hitting it off the tee.
The kids all lined up ready to play!

Here is Adriana hitting the ball.

Run Adriana Run!

Adriana throwing the ball the third base.

Adriana running for a ball in outfield.

Adriana did outstanding and is turning into a little athlete!

Mother's Day Tea!

Thursday I was invited to Mother's Day Tea at Andrew's preschool. The moms all came in and sat down at our table while we waited for our little ones. The kids all came in and put on a little show for us with singing and dancing. It was very cute! After that we were treated to lemonade and some cookies that the kids had made for us that morning. It was very sweet and made this mommy tear up a little (but don't tell anyone.....hehe).
I only remembered to get pictures of Andrew doing his song and dance.

Thanks to all the wonderful teachers who helped to make this a very memorable mother's day!

A little regression!

As most of you know, I have been battling eating issues with Adriana since she was a baby. She has several texture issues with her food that has been getting worse over the years. For awhile she was doing really, really well and eating many different foods. However, if you read my other blog http://eatingcanbefun.blogspot.com/ (which was actually started for Adriana's eating issues) you will see that we have gone completely natural with our eating. Almost everything is made from scratch with exception to a few things. Well Adriana has not taken to this very well and is eating about half as much as she used to. She is going back to only eating her basic 5 foods. Even at lunch she will no longer let me pack her lunch and will only buy at school. Some of you may think this is a good thing because she is trying all the food the school has to offer, but she doesn't buy all those meals. She only will get the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Ugh!!!! I don't know what to do to help her. The doctor has told me to take her to a professional for help, but it will cost me $40 for each visit plus my $1500 a year co-pay. We just don't have that kind of extra money laying around, especially with Chris' pay cut right now. If anyone knows anything about eating issues please let me know or if you have any advice I would love to hear it. I don't want to give up our way of eating, but I'm really hoping I can get her eating normal again. Thanks!

Andrew playing T-Ball!

Tuesday night Andrew starting playing T-Ball. He was so excited to start playing and even more excited that he was on the Reds team (aka Cardinals as he calls it). He did really well and played so much better than I ever thought he would have.
Here is his team waiting for their turn to bat.

Woohoo a hit!

Run Andrew Run!

Patiently waiting in the outfield.

Oh a ball! Look at all the boys run for it!

Good game! Everyone won!

It was a lot of fun watching him plays. I'm sure this is the start of many more years of baseball to come!

Camping at Cuivre River State Park!

This past weekend we took our first camping trip of the year to Cuivre River State Park. Our camper was parked at our farm in Hawk Point so this campground was really close for us. I was a little worried about going at first because they were calling for some strong storms but it ended up being a great weekend. The rain held off for the evening hours so the daytime was perfect. We did a lot of fun things and I think the kids had a great time getting away.
First we had to pick out sleeping arrangements........what? Everyone is sleeping in the top bunk?!

Then we headed down to the beach while we waited for Uncle Dan to bring cousin Jacob who was going to stay the weekend with us. While walking to the beach we came across a green snake. So we took a picture while it crossed the road to head back to the woods........thats a good thing since I'm not overly fond of snakes!

Joey bringing the bucket down to play with.

Adriana and Andrew playing in the water.

Little toesies in the sand.

This is so much fun mom!!!!

When Uncle Dan arrived he decided to take the boys fishing since Chris was still working and I don't do well with baiting hooks and taking fish off.......yuck!
The boys loved this!

Andrew caught the first fish which was a 13" catfish! Wow!

This picture is funny because I kept telling Andrew to look at me for the picture so he turned his head towards me but wouldn't take his eyes off his prize catch!

We released the fish back into the water and headed back to the campground so we could do some roller skating.
Andrew trying his best to not fall.

Adriana and Jacob skating circles around us.

Andrew getting a little help from big cousin Jacob!

Some more wildlife we came across. There was a LOT of deer in the park and the kids loved watching them.

Of course you can't have a campout without making some yummy smores!

YUMMY!!!!!!

Next to our camping spot was a little hiking trail we decided to try out. I also gave the kids each a paper bag to collect some neat things they find along the way. It was great when we got back to the campground and everyone shared their treasures with each other.

Joey spotted something off the bridge but the others don't seem as interested.

Must have found some great treasures!

Heading back to the campground.

The boys taking a break from all the hiking!

One last stop at the beach!

We had a great time and I look forward to many more camping weekends over the summer!

Bridging ceremony!

Last Tuesday night Adriana had her bridging ceremony for girlscouts. Although Adriana's troop wasn't bridging this year, it was a good time to see what they will be doing next year. The girls also received a gift along with their patches they have earned. It was a really cute ceremony and all the girls were so excited!
Here is most of the girls saying the Pledge of Allegiance along with the girlscout song.

Adriana with Lauren, Maggie, Makalya, and Kennedy.

It was so much fun and we look forward to next year when the girls will be bridgin from daisies to brownies.
