Andrew's soccer game!

We have had such crazy packed weekends between two kids playing soccer and other activities that this weekend was the first soccer game I was able to go to for Andrew. Thats crazy! He did really well and I was very impressed at how well he played considering he was playing on the kindergarten team.
Here is a few pictures of him and his new friends playing.

This is how Joey choose to watch the game!

And soccer is such a hard sport and takes out all you energy.........two tired boys!

I think we will have another great soccer player in the family!

Mommy and Me camping trip!

This past weekend Adriana and I went on a she and me campout with several other families from Borromeo school. We camped at camp Ouatoga in Pere Marquette. This was our first time there so we weren't sure what to expect. It was a great place for group camping and super cheap. It is only $4 a person to stay there and we each paid an additional $12 a person for food for the weekend. So for $36 Adriana and I had one of the best weekends for just the two of us. The camp has several cabins to stay in and we choose to stay in one of the bigger cabins with three other adults and 4 other girls. This was really fun for the girls! It also has a huge kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook and a huge dinning hall that could easily seat close to 75 people. We only had about 50 people with us this particular weekend. We got down to the camp Friday evering just before dusk. It was just enough time to find our cabin and get settled in before it got too dark. The girls had a blast running around with their flashlights and sitting by the campfire.
Here is a few pictures of the girls playing around by the campfire Friday night. One of the moms also brought some sparkling grape juice for the girls to share and they thought that was the greatest thing ever.

Of course it didn't take but about 5 minutes for the girls to crash out as soon as we got back to the cabin and it was only 10pm......geeze what happened to the crazy late nights we used to have :)

The next morning we got up bright and early and started breakfast for everyone. The girls all loved helping out in the kitchen and even helped with cleanup!

After breakfast we took a short walk to a cross with the most beautiful view! I was just in awe looking at it! Some of the other girls got to see it the night before at sunset and said it was even more amazing! I really wanted to see that on Saturday night but of course the day went by so fast and before I knew it, it was already dark so I never got to see it but there is always next time!

Adriana, Charlize, and Janet playing around while we went out looking for some firewood.

Just lounging around relaxing a little before the wildness begins again!

This was a creepy spider I found next to one of the bathrooms! If you know me at all, then you know how much I HATE spiders!!!!! These spiders around here must be eating a ton of bugs because they were HUGE!!!!

We enjoyed another fun night at the campfire. Adriana and Charlize sitting around enjoying the night.

One of the moms was nice enough to bring glow bracelets for all the girls. I know the girls easily spent an hour playing and laughing with these silly things. I tried to get a picture of them playing with them but my flash went off.

So I tried again without my flash and I got this crazy picture!

The adults sitting around enjoying some grownup time.

The girls needing more sugar (NOT) but decided to make some s'mores. Yummy!!!!

After all the fun from Saturday we still managed to get them to bed once again without any complaints by 10pm.........whoooohooooo! But once again up early to make some breakfast and clean up.
The girls all enjoying their breakfast. Yes, we crammed all these girls into this little table while the adults took over the big tables but they really didn't seem to mind!

Before leaving I did manage to get a picture of our cabin we stayed in. I told you it was pretty rustic, but it made for a wonderful experience for our girls!

The girls on the ferry boat home.

The girls with Charlize's mom, Suzanne, and Janet's mom, Ivy.

It was such a fun weekend and I know that Adriana will have these memories for a lifetime! I'm so happy I am able to do all these fun things with her and help her make such wonderful memories with her friends! I can't wait to do it all again soon! It was worth every penny and spider just to hear all the laughter and see all the smiles from the whole weekend!

Andrew's special helper day!

Last Wednesday I was able to be parent helper at Andrew's school which makes him the special helper for the day. Andrew was so excited and could hardly wait for this special day. I took him to the store before hand and he got to pick out the special snack for the day which he choose cheeze its. Then I got to come to class with him. As special helper you get to do all the fun things.......such as holding the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance.

Putting the day on the calendar.

Then began class time. The kids make their rounds with all the different fun activites. Playing on the computer is a favorite for all.

Then he came over to the table I was helping with to make a stoplight. The kids took red, yellow, and green paper and cut them into circles then glued them onto an empty paper towel roll. I was able to take a few pictures of him making it but got a little busy at the table and forgot to get a picture of the finished product.

At the end of the day the special helper gets to be the weather person and decides what weather they had that day. Luckily it was another sunny day so Andrew got to add another sunshine to the board.

He also got to do the map and tell all the kids the different states he has been to which added up to 9 different states in his four years of life. What a little traveler we have!

I thought this was just a funny picture of Andrew and Mrs. DeVries together.

And this is Andrew and one of his best pals, Grant, playing firemen together. They are just too cute!

I had a great time spending the day with my little boy and can't wait to do it again soon! Thanks for the great day Andrew!!!!!

Riding the train!

On Sunday, Chris and I took the kids to ride the Wabash Train in Wildwood, MO. It is a really cute little train that takes you for about a 30 minute ride through the woods.

It is a lot of fun for the kids although the seats for me aren't the most comfortable but then again it could have been that I had to share it with Adriana and Joey!
Chris and Andrew before we headed out.

Adriana and Joey with mommy.

When we got deep into the woods they stopped the train so they could switch the train engine to the other end of the train. It gave me a little break to stand up and stretch my legs!

Joey found a leaf on our break and was so proud of it!

It was a great way to spend a fall afternoon and the kids had a blast riding the little train!

Parish picnic!

This past Saturday was the start of the St. Charles Borromeo parish picnic. The kids look so forward to this every year and Adriana does even more so because it becomes a big social event for all the school kids. This year it started with the 5:00 Mass outside. I didn't think it would go so well with all the wind but it ended up being a really neat Mass. Hopefully we can do it every year! Then came on the fun!
They got to bounce in the bounce house....

They played probably about 50 games a piece although this seems to be the only picture I got of the game playing.

After playing some of the games we took a break and got some dinner to eat. There was a lot of yummy barbque to eat plus all the junk food the kids seemed to find!
Even though it was a bit chilly out, that didn't stop Andrew from eating some ice cream!

Joey chowing down on some cotton candy!

Then came the rides! Adriana riding on the swings. Sorry about the red eyes on a lot of these pictures.....for some reason my camera couldn't seem to fix them.

Adriana and her friend Lauren on the faris wheel.

This is a very happy little girl!

And an even happier little boy! "That was so fun mom!!!"

It was such a fun night and a great time hanging with our parish family! The kids are already asking when we can go to the parish picnic again.....

Growing up fast!

This weekend was my neice's homecoming dance. I can't believe how big she is getting. It seems like just yesterday I was babysitting her and taking her to McDonalds and now she is off to her high school dances :( It makes me realize how quickly my little ones are going to grow up too because it seems like just yesterday Kaitlyn was Adriana's age! Anyway, she looked so beautiful and had to show a picture of her. Here is the princess for the night!

Adriana's checkup!

Today we had Adriana's 7 year checkup. We had a LONG talk to the doctor about her eating issues and the doctor kept telling Adriana how important it was for her to be eating fruit and veggies. Yes, we are still working on her eating anything but breads and pastas. Its been a very long battle that has been going on since starting solid food. She gave me a lot of ideas to start trying so hopefully this will help out a lot. Everything else on her looks great! I asked about her lack of sleep but the doctor said if she only gets 9 hours of sleep and does fine throughout the day then let it be. Some kids just require less sleep than others. Her vision is 20/20 and her hearing is perfect as well. She is 55 inches tall which is still off the charts and her weight is 55 lbs which is in the 75 percentile. She said not to worry about the 25% difference between her height and weight than once she finally slows down her growing her weight will catch up. Thats about it. Adriana and Joey were both given the flu mist and Andrew was in preschool so he will have to catch up next week. So we are good for another 365 days for her!
