Andrew's preschool graduation!

So Thursday night was a very sad night for this momma! My little boy graduated from preschool :( Its a bittersweet moment! A year ago I thought we would never make it to this point, but over the past year I think back into amazement at how much my little guy has grown! He has learned so much as well as matured so much. I couldn't have been more proud of my little boy!
Here he comes with the rest of the 2011 preschool graduates....

The preschoolers putting on their graduation ceremony...

Andrew receiving his certificate of graduation!

Andrew getting asked what he wants to be when he grows up and his answer was....."a hockey player......because I know what I'm doing"! Lol, thats my boy!

Andrew made a lot of close friends this year. These boys all seemed to get along so well and would even spend time playing together after school while us moms spent time chatting away :) I'm very sad to see these boys heading their separate way, but happy that a teacher doesn't have all of them in the same class together again :) It was really neat to see their friendships blossom and we are hoping to stay in contact over the summer so they can hang out together a little more before heading off to a new school to make new friends. So here are a few pictures of these best buds on graduation night.....

And the sadest part of the night was having to say goodbye to Mrs. Rhonda Gaines! She first became director of the preschool Adriana's first year at Curiosity Corner and now I'm saying goodbye to her after she was there for both of my older kids while they went through their preschool years!
This is the teachers all saying their goodbyes!

She will be missed but I wish her the best in whatever she does!

Andrew's last day of preschool!

Wednesday was Andrew's last day of preschool :( Much to my dismay, his growing continues! And boy has he grown this year. Last year I was really worried about him as he seemed very high energy and unable to concentrate, but he has grown leaps and bounds this year! He happily goes into preschool and I rarely hear anything but positives from his teachers! He has made so many incredible friends and they are all so much fun together, but they are all boys and I sure felt for those poor teachers :) Here are a few pictures from the last day of school which I was happy to be parent helper for...

So the growing continues and my little boy will soon be joining his big sister at the big kid school :(

Camping at Lakeside 370!

Last weekend we went camping at the new Lakeside 370 park. This was the trial weekend and the city employees were able to camp for free. We really enjoyed the park and I thinks its going to be great to have such a nice park so close to home. So here was our first experience at the new park!
We were able to use all the rentals for free also this weekend so we tried out the paddle boats. Chris, Adriana, and Joey took one boat and me and Andrew took out another boat. They were a lot of fun but a lot of work when my passenger couldn't even touch the peddles.

We were babysitting my little brother's dog that weekend so we took her with us and she was so excited to go on lots of walks with the kids.

The kids spent a lot of time riding their bikes around!

We made s'mores of course!

And this was my best attempt at getting a picture of the kids by the lake with the sunset. We got there just a little too late :(

We had a great time and I know we will be spending lots of time camping at this park since it is so close to home and the gas prices are ridulous! I highly recommend the park to anyone who enjoys spending time outside!

Magic House field trip!

Last Monday was Adriana's field trip to the Magic House. The first grades kids go on the field trip with their 5th grade buddies. Unfortunately during the field trip Adriana got a migrane headache so I wasn't able to get very many pictures. Luckily her headache didn't last all day so she was still able to enjoy most of the day.
Sliding down the slide....

Climbing Jack's beanstock.....

It was a hair raising experience!

Adriana and her fifth grade buddy, Leah!

After the field trip the bus dropped us off at Blanchette Park for their lunch and the kids had time to play on the playground then we walked back to school. It was a great time and the kids had lots of fun, other than the migraine for Adriana!

Borromeo Field Day!

Last week Adriana's school had their annual Field Day at Blanchette Park. They have a parade from their school which the police block off the roadway for them and they walk on down to the park (about 1/2 mile away). Then the 8th graders set up lots of fun games for the kids to do and the parents do a barbque for the end of the day. It is always so much fun and the kids look so forward to the day!
Here is a few of the fun activities the kids got to do....

The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold and it was a perfect day for the kiddos!

Yet Aunt again!

So this seems to be what I say a lot lately, but yes I will be an Aunt again! My little brother and his wife are expecting another baby. Their little girl, my Goddaughter, just turned 1 and they are now expecting............twins! The babies are due in Dec. but will probably be born in Nov. So they will have three babies under 18 months old! Wow! So a big congratulations to Kevin and Jenny! I can't wait to meet the little ones!!!!!

Adriana and a select soccer team!

So Adriana has been asked to play for a select soccer team that 4 coaches are putting together. Yes, I am extremely excited for her but I have my fears too. Up to this point, Adriana has LOVED the game and yes she is really good at it. But I am afraid that her love for the game is going to turn to a hate for it because of how hard it is going to get. They will have two practices a week and one to two games a week. That is a lot of soccer each week and its year round. She is also used to winning most of her games because they play recreational teams and now she will be playing against all select teams and its going to get really tough. I have explained all of this to her and she says she is alright with it. Chris, of course, is overjoyed about it and can't wait for her to start. The coaches are also excited that Adriana will be part of their team. So I decided I would let her try it out and I told Chris that the first sight of her getting burned out we would let her take a session off for a break and see from there. I think this is just a lot for this young and I really wish they wouldn't start select teams until at least middle school. These girls are all only 7 years old! So anyway, Adriana will be playing on a select soccer team now and I will post pictures as soon as it gets started. Don't get me wrong with this post, I really am extremely excited that she was asked. Adriana has really become a great little athlete and loves playing all the sports. She really is blessed with her athletic skills!

Spring Choir Concert!

Last week Adriana had her spring choir concert. This concert is put on every year for grades K-4th. It was such a great concert and all the kids did so well. Each grade sings two songs then they do a finally with all the grades together. Here are a few pictures from the night.

All the kids did a great job and we really enjoyed the concert!

Outside fun day!

I know I am really behind on my blogs so I will be catching up this week to prepare for all the summer posts that will be coming.
A couple of weeks ago Andrew's school had outside fun day. This will be our fourth year doing this since we had been doing it since Adriana started preschool. The kids always look forward to this and we've lucked out every year with great weather! I was also parent helper this day so I was there for the whole day with him.
We started off the day with the Pledge of Allegiance. Since Andrew was special helper that day he got to hold the flag.

Joey thinks he is already part of the class and fits right in.

Andrew helping out with the calendar.

Then it was time to head outside for some fun outside activities! Both of my boys had a blast doing lots of fun things!

Then we finished off the day with some yummy hotdogs, chips, and popsicles.

The kids all had a blast and I look forward to doing this again next year!
